People Handling 'Train The Trainer' Courses

Preparing your team to be ready when you need them

Our expert trainers can work with your selected staff to build a team of competent Manual Handling Trainers. Having your own in-house people handling trainers has a range of benefits:

  • it enables you to on-board new staff in a more timely and cost-effective way;
  • it allows for the rolling delivery of annual people handling refresher training;
  • it enables trainers to get to know new team members and assess their strengths and capabilities;
  • local knowledge of work areas and clients means that training can be easily targeted to the needs of the group.

However, being an effective trainer requires more than just knowing ‘how to do’ people handling. Trainers also need to be equipped with the following skills:

  • clear and simple communication;
  • the understanding of key movement components for each practical task;
  • the ability to observe participants performance and identify errors;
  • the ability to provide effective and appropriate feedback to improve performance;
  • enthusiasm and belief in the importance of good people handling.

Our ‘Train the Trainer’ courses aim to develop Trainer’s skills across all of these areas, so your Trainers will feel confident, enjoy delivering training and remain committed to the role.
