How can you give your client the best care, safely?Meet physiotherapists Michael and Rebecca Terry.
As a young man, Michael was employed as a disability support worker while he studied his physiotherapy degree. He has extensive experience people handling in the health, aged, and disability sectors and is recognised as an industry expert in community care. He teaches people handling and Occupational Health to student physiotherapists at Bond University.
Rebecca’s physiotherapy career has focused on rehabilitation and neurological physiotherapy. She has worked in the Spinal Injuries Unit, Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, Gold Coast Amputee Clinic, and several general rehabilitation units. As well as her work with Momentum where her special interest is in-home people handling training for clients with complex needs, she has been teaching student physiotherapists at Bond University since 2012.
Both Michael and Rebecca have close family members living with disability. Their personal experiences have cemented their belief that everyone in the circle of care (individuals, family, friends and carers) need to be supported to live their healthiest lives.
Manual Handling Care Plans for NDIS Clients

- Meeting with client, family, and service facilitators to discuss needs and preferences;
- Liaison with existing allied health team;
- A people handling needs assessment focused on functional skills such as bed mobility, transfers, mobilisation, personal care and community access;
- Tailored in-home carer training and competency assessments;
- Equipment recommendations, trials, prescriptions and funding applications;
- Supporting risk assessments, procedures and care plan documents for self-managed NDIS clients.
